Adam has dedicated his career to helping healthcare providers navigate daunting legal challenges. He focuses his practice on cases involving government investigations, administrative sanctions, audits, regulatory compliance, and transactions/acquisitions.
​
Adam aggressively represents all types of healthcare providers in state and federal courts around the country and before various government agencies, such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the U.S. Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG). He has successfully defended providers against all types of administrative sanctions, including overpayment assessments (particularly those calculated using statistical sampling and extrapolation), payment suspensions, pre-payment audits, revocations, terminations, and exclusions.

Adam is one of the most experienced and effective healthcare audit defense attorneys in the country. He has successfully represented providers in audits initiated by CMS or its contractors (especially Unified Program Integrity Contractors (UPICs) and Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs)), state Medicaid agencies, and Special Investigations Units (SIUs).

Adam also has extensive experience responding to civil healthcare fraud investigations initiated by CMS, OIG, the U.S. Department of Justice, and state Medicaid agencies––including and especially False Claims Act matters. He has successfully resolved civil fraud allegations on behalf of numerous clients while avoiding the expense and uncertainty of litigation.

Adam is adept at managing internal investigations and has worked with providers to resolve major compliance issues. He believes in taking a proactive approach to regulatory compliance and regularly advises clients on issues arising under the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, the Eliminating Kickbacks in Recovery Act (EKRA), the Civil Monetary Penalties Law, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and various state laws. Adam also has extensive knowledge regarding Medicare and Medicaid enrollment requirements along with state licensing rules.
Adam works with healthcare providers of all sizes, ranging from some of the largest providers in the country to single-physician practices. He is committed to finding efficient and cost-effective solutions for his clients that meet their unique needs.
