Tyler M. Leonard

Tyler advises landowners, mineral owners, and agricultural families across Texas on real property, energy, business, and estate planning matters. Her practice draws on deep roots in ranching and a background in natural resources policy, and spans to pipeline and utility easements, oil and gas leasing, emerging carbon sequestration transactions, farm and ranch acquisitions, and multigenerational succession planning.

Raised in a ranching family in Del Rio, Texas, Tyler brings a firsthand understanding of the land and the families who steward it. Before law school, she served in both the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives, where she worked on legislation governing criminal justice, water, agriculture, and natural resources. She earned her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she was selected for the Executive Board of the Texas Tech Law Review, and holds two bachelor’s degrees from Texas A&M University. Tyler and her husband, Craig, live and ranch in West Texas alongside their families.
